How to check if the perfume is authentic?
Q. Help! I am buying a perfume from a local perfume shop which is cheaper 1/3 of the original price from a department store. Any tips how to spot an original perfume from fake ones just by looking at the box or bottle? Someone advised that original perfumes have control numbers but my brother bought a fake one with a control number too.

A. 1. Look at the outer packaging. If your bottle came shrink wrapped pay attention to the quality of the wrapping. It should fit cleanly and snugly around the box and be made of clear, unwrinkled high-quality cellophane. If the box of perfume did not come shrink wrapped, don't worry, some sellers remove the shrink wrap prior to selling. The next things you can look for are on the boxes themselves. Look up the fragrance online and compare the box you have with the pictures of the ones online to see if yours looks similar. If there's a design element out of place, the font used is different or the box you have looks like it's a much lower quality then be suspicious. Real boxes should have nice sharp corners, and be made of high quality paper.… [cont.]

What is a good perfume to wear for my wedding day?
Q. I am a migraine and frequent headache suffer, so finding a perfume can be hard for me. I can not go into the store and smell many different ones because all it takes is one whiff of the wrong perfume and I am done for. I currently wear Be Delicious by DKNY and love it, but would like something different for my wedding day. Something that is romantic but sexy. Any suggestions?

A. NONE. As a fellow migraine sufferer, you really need to remove possible triggers. I urge you to leave it off. Maybe after the ceremony and reception you can put it on in the bedroom, but I would not tap-dance on a minefield.

What are some ways to keep my perfume lasting longer on my skin?
Q. I love buying new perfumes and I love all the scents, but whenever I spray it on before school, by the time I get to first period I can't smell it anymore. What are some techniques to make the scent last longer? I know I need to spray it on again every so often but when I spray a lot I smell too bad. So anyway, I just want to keep the scent lightly on my skin so that when I go by you'll be able to smell my perfume and not choke :) Thanks !

A. rub a little petroleum jelly on the places you plan on spraying the perfume(neck,wrists, etc.) the spray your perfume on those spots
