Perfume or Parfume or Pirfume (English: /ˈpɝː.fjuːm/, French parfum pronounced: [paʁ.fœ̃]) is a mixture of fragrant essential oils and/or aroma compounds, fixatives, and solvents used to give the human body, animals, objects, and living spaces "a pleasant scent". The odoriferous compounds that make up a perfume can be manufactured synthetically or extracted from plant or animal sources. Perfumes have been known to exist in some of the earliest human civilizations either through ancient texts or from archaeological digs. Modern perfumery began in the late 19th century with the commercial synthesis of aroma compounds such as vanillin or coumarin, which allowed for the composition of perfumes with smells previously unattainable solely from natural aromatics alone. Q. I was just wondering if different people have different smells. For example, last night I went on a date with my boyfriend and we were hugging and kissing, and I can still smell his scent on my clothes today, I don't think he was wearing cologne or anything, It's just his natural smell. (God I sound so weird right now.) I can pick up on people's "scents" and I know who it is right away. Lol, is it just me, am I crazy or have other people noticed this as well? It's an instinctual thing I think. My parents said that when I was a newborn, they knew that I was for sure their son because both of my parents said I had a distinctive smell. My mom says that she could close her eyes and know if it was me just by my smell. Plus, everyone has a smell. It's not gross or anything, it's just a unique smell that everyone has. I can smell it on my guy friends too, it's totally normal. Answered by footballa_85 - Mon Feb 21 15:50:43 2011 From Yahoo Answer Search: "french scents" |
